Antibiotic Resistance: approaching the post-antibiotic era

Report written and edited by the SAFE team (Barcelona node), on antimicrobial resistance and super-resistant bacteria species that have the greatest impact on global human and animal health.

In this report we introduce the current situation on the most antibiotic-resistant bacteria (superbugs), to contextualize the real impact of this problem, and the possibility that it will lead us towards a post-antibiotic era, where we will not have any effective antibiotics to fight them.
